Ornament

An assignment at the Academy of visual Arts, Bilzen

The base of this work is a plank of wood covered with newspaper and a coating of gesso.

I decided to add some structure to the painting by using old tea towels and fixating them on top of the plank of wood. After that I started drawing an ornament with charcoal. Finishing it off by adding some brown bistre to give it a warmer feeling.
